Worldwide cityscapes are changing and architects face the constant challenge of integrating parking areas into existing or new properties in densely built urban environments. While we have a growing desire to replace cars as a primary mobility resource, this goal is far from achievable. Many revitalizations in the city center today require organized parking. If the space is small, it can be difficult to match the access ramp or radius of the traditional parking garage. Since these robotic parking systems need no access for pedestrians, up to 60% more cars can be put in one space – raising RoI in parking spaces. Instead, the same amount of cars can be parked in 60% of the traditional parking garage area, providing substantial cost savings in construction. In each case, the user experience in robotic parking systems – brightly lit entry areas, safe vehicle recovery, and reduced car smoke when the search is effectively eliminated.

On both sides of the pond, ambitious architectural projects lead the way. In 2015, in Arhus, Denmark, Schmidt Hammer Lassen opened Dokk1. This represents a new wave of innovative hybrid libraries as the largest public library in Scandinavia. The city, 35,000 m2 also has a robotic parking system with approximately 1,000 parking spaces.
Located at the mouth of the river Aarhus, it is situated in one of the city’s most significant locations. The parking plant, built by German Lödige Industries manufacturer, plays an important role in the building. The device features glass doors, luminous areas, and a secure and welcoming user interface, which please both users which building owners.

Similar facilities in New York, Chicago, and Detroit are also in service in the United States, but not on the same scale for parking spaces. Nevertheless, the architecture and user experience are primarily in luxury residential buildings in line with their European counterparts.

With the so-called “Park & Hide,” a car park user pushes the car into a car park, positioning the vehicle on a lift platform. When you leave the car park, a roller shutter is closed and parking begins automatically. Only then does the platform reduce the vehicle to the level to be parked.
The average length of the parking cycle in DOKK1 is only 107 seconds, and 20 cabins are open. Up to 972 cars can be parked in the three levels of the facility at any given time. Twenty-four moving vehicles run in two aisles. The state-of-the-art scanning technology ensures the cars can reach the facility safely, while the proprietary control software algorithms from Lödige Industries ensure that they are stored in the best space possible despite current rates of usage and recovery. The average recovery speed is 120 seconds due largely to Lödige Industries’ pallet less technology. With a flat robot called a ‘shifter,’ cars are only supported by tires and naturally hit the roads. At a constant speed of 2 meters per second, the transfer vehicles transport them. Around 1 million cars have been stored in three years. Complex algorithms ensure the most effective collection of parking spaces. The accurate parking of state-of-the-art robots prevents vehicle damage. Lödige Industries agreed to provide urgent assistance and repair in the event of a possible accident under a long term 24/7 service contract.
The same company currently builds systems in New York, Boston, Ottawa, and Toronto in North America, providing robot parking spaces in nearly 500 mixed and residential areas. It seems that robotic parking is expected to make a significant contribution to the urban environment of the United States.
How to revive and Start a Car that has been Sitting Idle for Months?
It is quite common for individuals to experience trouble while re-starting cars that have been sitting in storage for months. If you haven’t used the car in a while, it might not start right away. You must take some time to ascertain the condition, check for its vitals, and eventually consider warming up with a 30-minute stroll.
Reviving the car after months of hibernation is a step-pronged process. The basic approach is segregated into three parts, i.e., checking for Issues, attending to the Problems, and warming the vehicle up.

Now that you have checked for some of the more crucial issues related to the car revival, it is necessary to attend to the same. If the engine oil requires a refill, change, or both, attend to the same on a priority basis before you consider taking the car out on a stroll. In case there is a leak, try getting it fixed by calling a qualified technician.
If not, check and attend to the coolant. Most importantly, you need to get the battery charged or replaced before you can even prepare for ignition. However, if you were proactive and disconnected the battery prior to car storage, a basic cleaning routine using baking soda and water would suffice.
Nevertheless, if the battery is fully discharged, consider reviving the conductive properties by externally charging the same. Lastly, once all the loose ends have been taken care of, prepare for the ignition by removing the spark plugs, adding lubricant, and firing the engine, incrementally. At this point, jumpstarting the vehicle isn’t advised.
If you encounter gasoline issues, consider removing and refilling while changing the air filter as well.
Warming the Vehicle Up
Before you take the car out, you must allow the engine to rev for a while. This process will warm the vehicle up almost miraculously. While the car is running, quickly check it once again for leaks, levels of transmission fluid, and the air filer viability. Besides that, it is also advisable to check and fix the bump stops, rusted shafts, and shock leaks to give your car the ultimate makeover.
Also, for high beam lights and headlights and give some thought to the blown fuses before getting rid of them. Once the issues are sorted, take the vehicle out for a short 15-min drive.
Getting a car up and running after it has been idle for months isn’t as straightforward as it seems. Instead, you must check for all the aspects mentioned above, to make sure that the vehicle is brought back to the original condition sans any compromises in safety and efficiency.
