Cowboys vs Giants odds, spread, and line: NFL model selections for Monday Night Football

When the Dallas Cowboys go to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, it will be their first time travelling this year. After losing 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to open the 2022 NFL season, the Cowboys went on to defeat the Bengals 20-17 on a last-second drive on Sunday. Dak Prescott, the quarterback who lost to Tampa Bay due to an injury, is out recovering from surgery, but Cooper Rush performed well enough to win the game against Carolina. For the first time since 2016, the Giants are 2-0 and confident going into the NFC East matchup. They beat Tennessee, the top seed in the AFC in the playoffs the previous year, 21-20 to kick off the season. Following that, they beat Carolina 19-13 on Sunday, showing that new coach Brian Daboll has given a club that had a 4-13 record in 2021 some grit.

The Cowboys vs. Giants game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. According to the most recent Cowboys vs. Giants odds from Caesars Sportsbook, the total number of points scored is 39.5. The Giants can cover because
With a healthy Saquon Barkley at his side, Daboll, a former offensive coach for the Patriots, has just recently been able to help the Giants find ways to win. With 236 running yards as of Week 3 in the league, the former No. 2 overall choice, who has now ran for more than 70 yards four times in a row. New York has attempted 55 passes, which is third-fewest in the league, and has tried 57 runs, which is tied for fifth-fewest (65). Its best chance of winning against the Cowboys, who rank 20th against the run but sixth against the pass in the league, is to employ the run and play defence strategy.

In his third start, Cooper Rush, whose completion percentage is barely 59 percent, will face the Giants’ defence and the New York crowd. The Giants have been especially strong against third down conversions, allowing them to succeed only 22% of the time, which is the best percentage in the league. Only 24% of the time do the Cowboys’ offensive plays result in a first down, which is tied for the poorest percentage. Jones will be pursued relentlessly by Micah Parsons, who has four sacks (and 17 in 18 career games), while Trevon Diggs recorded an interception in each of the last two matchups.

the Cowboys’ ability to cover
Since the beginning of last season, Dallas has gone 14-5 and has been the top NFL club against the spread. In their last 10 encounters with the Giants, they are 9-0 straight-up winners and 8-2 against the spread. Rush is surrounded by excellent players and has led comebacks in the fourth quarter to win both of his career starts. In 10 starts versus the Giants, Ezekiel Elliott has scored four times in a row and averages over 94 total yards. Noah Brown, who leads the club with 10 catches, has established himself as one of Rush’s favourite targets. Last week, he led the club in yards with 91.

Another essential component of the attack is Tony Pollard, who finished Week 2 with 98 total yards. Joe Burrow was sacked six times by the Cowboys’ ferocious pass rush last week against the Bengals. Micah Parsons, who is third in the NFL with four of the team’s eight sacks, will be pursuing Jones the whole night. The Giants quarterback was sacked 22 times in 11 games last season, making him 0-8 in prime time in his career.

Fantasy Football Heat Index: Mack Hollins, Khalil Herbert, and Trevor Lawrence (2022)

For those who haven’t read the piece before, every Monday during the NFL season, we examine the players whose Sunday performances stood out to us the most. We’ll rate their remainder of the season prospects on a scale of – to – along with their statistics (half-point PPR scoring) and positional rank for the week. In Week 3, there were a number of unexpectedly strong performances, many of which involved players taking advantage of a teammate’s injury.

Trevor Lawrence, the qb (QB – JAC)

Statistics: Seven yards rushing and 28 of 39 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns, and a 2-point conversion
QB Rank: 3
Analysis: In Week 3, Lawrence dominated a weakened Chargers defence by spreading the ball about and projecting like the top selection in the previous round. With an experienced, QB-friendly coach and a stronger receiving group this season, Lawrence should continue to get better. Additionally, for the most part this season, his schedule appears to be reasonable. To be avoided, though, is the game against the stern Eagles defence the following week.

Index of heat:

Mack Hollins, a wide receiver (WR – LV)

Stats: Eight catches off ten targets, good for 158 yards and a touchdown, wide receiver rank: two.
Analysis: In the Raiders’ aborted comeback against the Titans, Hollins capitalised on Hunter Renfrow’s (WR – LV) injury. Hollins had also led the Raiders in receiving yards in Week 2 and had played more snaps than Renfrow during the first two weeks, so his performance wasn’t a fluke. Hollins should see plenty of outside work throughout the whole season because Renfrow lines up virtually exclusively in the slot. As defenders focus on the Raiders’ other offensive threats, Renfrow, Davante Adams (WR – LV), and Darren Waller, the veteran wideout’s target share will probably decline, but he still appears to be in a terrific position to have his greatest season as a professional (TE – LV).

Index of heat:

Jones, Zay (WR – JAC)

Stats: 10 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets, WR Rank: 5.
Analysis: With an excellent 28% target share in Week 3, Zay Jones emerged as Trevor Lawrence’s favourite target. Christian Kirk (WR – JAC), who received the most of the attention this off-season, has one more catch than Jones after three games. Jones will certainly lack consistency week to week because Marvin Jones Jr. (WR – JAC), Evan Engram (TE – JAC), and the running backs are all engaged in the passing attack for the Jags. He has nonetheless established himself as a viable bye-week streamer in plus matchups and in deep leagues.

Index of heat:

Backfield runner Khalil Herbert (RB – CHI)

Two receptions off two targets for a total of 12 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries for 157 yards.
RB Rank: 1
Analysis: After David Montgomery (RB – CHI) suffered an ankle/knee injury after only three carries on Sunday, Herbert replaced him as the Bears’ starting running back. He made the most of the ideal matchup and rumbled his way to fantasy acclaim. Herbert demonstrated his superior ability to fill in for Montgomery while he was out last season, averaging 86 running yards and 12.3 fantasy points over a four-week period. If Montgomery is unable to play the following week, he is a must-start and one of the league’s top RB handcuffs.

Index of heat:

Williams, Jamaal (RB – DET)

Two receptions off two targets for a total of 20 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries for 87 yards.
Ranking: 2 RB
Analysis: Williams had the majority of the touches for the Lions on Sunday as they attempted (and failed) to hold off the Vikings in the fourth quarter due to an injured D’Andre Swift (RB – DET). Williams, like Khalil Herbert, was a good ball carrier and a good handcuff. Williams should be selected if he’s still available in your league even if it doesn’t seem like Swift’s injury will prevent him from playing next week. Williams should be added as a top priority, whether via a trade or a waiver, if Swift is already on your squad. Due to the Lions’ preference for managing Swift’s touches and appreciation of his efforts, he also has stand-alone value in deeper leagues.

Index of heat:

David Njoku, a tight end (TE – CLE)

Number of receptions: Nine out of ten targets for 89 yards and a touchdown TE Rank: 2
Njoku and Zach Ertz shared second place among tight ends in Week 2 with 10 targets each (TE – ARI). He only had six targets, in comparison, through Week 2. Njoku’s high level of playing time for the Browns this year has worked in his favour. Through Week 3, he has participated in around 90% of their offensive snaps. Njoku will have the chance if he keeps playing thus frequently, even though his target share will change. Going ahead, think of him as a high-end TE2, with a chance to make the top 10.

Kayla Bailey, daughter of ‘Basketball Wives’ actress Brooke Bailey, died at age 25.

Brooke Bailey, a star of “Basketball Wives,” said that her daughter Kayla unexpectedly passed away on Sunday. She was 25.

Pretty Black, aka Kayla Nicole Bailey, will always be my baby. This is not the end. Bailey posted a sequence of images of Kayla over the years on Instagram along with the message, “Mommy will see you soon.”

Kayla Nicole Bailey, who passed away in 2012, was remembered in Bailey’s new bio, which read: “FOREVER Kayla Nicole Bailey 3/2/97-9/25/22 #PrettyBlack.”

Although the exact reason of Kayla’s passing is unknown, there are rumours that she passed away from wounds acquired in a vehicle accident. By publishing an item about the collision, Bailey gave the impression that the news was accurate; nevertheless, the death’s official cause and manner are still unknown.

As soon as Bailey announced the news, her friends, family, and following showered her announcement with condolence messages.

Actress Tabitha Brown said, “Omg my heart just bled for you. “Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry.”

Jimmie Johnson, a Seven-Time NASCAR champion, is Retiring Professional Racing Full-Time

Jimmie Johnson, a seven-time NASCAR champion, is giving up full-time racing and will instead prioritise spending time with his family.

The 47-year-old estimates that no more than 10 of the things on his bucket list will be in his future calendar, but he was unsure of that timetable on Monday.

Johnson told The Associated Press that he was happy to announce that “we can now examine what opportunities exist and start constructing a calendar” since “I’ve got a blank sheet of paper.” Sponsor Carvana has already assured Johnson that it will support him in whichever racing he enters.

Before deciding to pull down, Johnson waited two weeks after the IndyCar championship race, including a weekend spent in England at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with Ganassi colleagues Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti. He admitted to the AP that he didn’t actually require the time to consider his options.

Johnson remarked that it had been “an unusual process” to feel so satisfied with the experience while yet attempting to make a choice. “In the grand scheme of things, the youngsters are planning their entire lives. We’ve always considered attempting to spend a year or two living overseas. There is simply so much going on emotionally and professionally that I just wanted to take some time and make the decision without basing it on a good or bad experience on the racetrack. We love Colorado and want to spend more time there.

What is Johnson, who left NASCAR in 2020, thinking at this point?

“Le Mans”

The unique “Garage 56” entry from NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports would compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Johnson has declared he wants to be a part of the three-driver Le Mans lineup from the beginning, despite the fact that the race will serve as a display for the Next Gen and the vehicle will be unique in its class.

He had been waiting for the 2023 IndyCar calendar to see whether he would even be available, but if NASCAR wants its potential Hall of Famer to be involved in the project, he will make sure his schedule is free.

Johnson will undoubtedly not join Chip Ganassi Racing for a second full IndyCar season. He competed in 2021 on just the street and road courses, added the ovals to compete the entire 2022 season, and is currently unsure if he will compete in IndyCar at all.

“Jimmie has our complete backing. We would like to continue working with him if we can because he has been a valuable component of our squad, according to team owner Ganassi.

Over the course of two seasons, Johnson struggled on the street and the road courses, with his greatest results coming on ovals, the track type he dominated for over two decades in NASCAR. Johnson drove laps at almost 240 mph in an impressive qualifying effort, and even though he ultimately wrecked out of his Indianapolis 500 debut, he finished sixth in the IndyCar standings at Iowa.

Johnson told the Associated Press, “I do have a desire to go back, but at this time, I know what’s necessary to do a full schedule, and I don’t have it in me. “I don’t have the enthusiasm I need for myself to commit to a full season,” the speaker said.

Big idea

Johnson has stated that he would return to NASCAR competition given the appropriate chance since announcing his retirement from the series in 2020, and he is now considering performing “the double” by competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.

2014 saw Kurt Busch try the 1,100-mile, two-state trip as the last driver. Busch’s NASCAR closer engine failure prevented him from finishing it by 200 miles. The only driver to cover the entire 1,100 miles is Tony Stewart, who made two attempts in each event. Before Busch, Robby Gordon and John Andretti both tried.

Johnson is willing to give it a go because he has four victories in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including three straight triumphs from 2003 to 2005.

Johnson told the AP, “You know me and endurance sports, and the double sounds amazing. “I’ve always respected the men who have pulled off the double. I believe it is more of a matter of respect than a wish-list item, and I’d love to put some effort into that concept to see if I can pull it off.

What other NASCAR race has his attention? The debut race through Chicago’s downtown streets and the All-Star race in North Wilkesboro are scheduled for the following year. In addition to the All-Star game, Johnson highlighted that the exhibition season-opening Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is exempt from entry since he had previously won.

Then what?

After this weekend’s IMSA Petit Le Mans, Johnson’s future in sports car racing is uncertain. Johnson has competed in the endurance races during the previous two seasons in a team effort with Hendrick and Action Express, but he doesn’t think there will be enough cars available when IMSA switches to new models the next year for Johnson’s initiative to continue.

He admitted to the AP that he would think about competing in a lesser IMSA division, such as LMP2, and that he is even interested in the six-race World Endurance Championship. However, he is intrigued by the WEC Series because of its exotic locations, such as Bahrain, Monza, Italy, and Fuji Speedway in Japan, as well as the fact that he enjoys travelling abroad with his wife and two young girls.

As a hands-on parent, Johnson actively participates in transporting his children to and from their busy schedule of sports and extracurricular activities. He and his wife, Chani Johnson, have discussed sending their daughters to school for a year in either England or France for the experience. The successful owner of an art gallery, Chani Johnson, is also seeking to grow her company.

“Chani has always supported me wholeheartedly while simultaneously having her own goals, aspirations, and pursuing her own career path. If I carry out this strategy, I believe she is cautiously hopeful,” Johnson told the AP. However, these choices must take into account the requirements and needs of the family. If we can make progress on travel and living abroad, I believe it will be difficult and a little more difficult on my schedule.

But those are choices that will be made over the next months. So, I would say, I enter this with no regrets. I have undoubtedly learnt lessons from the past, both good and terrible. However, I don’t feel any remorse or a pit in my stomach from an unfulfilled task.
